What Is Image Cropping?

Image cropping means cutting away parts of an image to focus on a specific region, change the aspect ratio, or remove unwanted content. Unlike resizing (which scales the entire image) or compressing (which reduces file size), cropping permanently removes pixels outside the selected area.

How to Use This Tool

Upload an image — drag and drop or click to browse.
Drag on the image to draw a crop rectangle. Move the whole box by dragging inside it.
Choose an aspect ratio — click any of the preset buttons (1:1, 16:9, 4:3, etc.) to constrain the crop.

Crop Handles and Interactions

Drag on empty area — starts a new crop rectangle.
Drag inside the rectangle — moves the whole crop area.
Drag the corner handles — resizes the crop area.

Crop vs Resize vs Compress

Crop — removes pixels outside a selected region. Changes composition and aspect ratio.
Resize — scales the whole image. Changes dimensions but not composition.
Compress — reduces file size without changing dimensions or composition.

A common workflow is: crop first (to remove unwanted areas), then resize (to the exact target dimensions), then compress (to reduce file size).

Output Format
